Our visit to Rio last June and July allowed us to continue preparing for this beautiful celebration, which began in 2020 and was put on hold for 2 years for the reasons you already know. We had re-immersed ourselves in the place, had refined the course of these 3 days we had planned to spend with you and had concocted a memorable experience for you in our city.

 

Everything was shaping up wonderfully. Except that the company we had hired for the occupation of the place and several other services, and which had still successfully provided 300 wedding events in 2022, went bankrupt precisely when we were there in Rio in the month of July. Undoubtedly at the origin of this rout: all the contracts signed during the pandemic which were no longer aligned with the current market and an inability to pay suppliers at their new prices, with the final consequence of several dozen impacted couples.

 

Since then, we have therefore worked to find alternatives, remotely from Brussels. But 2 months later and at the dawn of a new phase that awaits us, it is clear that we will not be able to guarantee you the experience that we had imagined and which would certainly have been worth the trip - that said , a trip to Rio, the wonderful city, is always worthwhile.

 

 

We are obviously disappointed not to be able to bring our 2 families and our friends together around this big party that we had put a lot of heart into preparing.

 

And on the other hand, we are relieved to have made this decision after several weeks of doubts. Since 2020, postponement after postponement and in a context that has changed a lot, we have also wondered about the alignment of this great celebration with our values of simplicity and sobriety. All in all, fate may have had it right and presented us with the opportunity to rethink certain aspects of our lives.

 

And then we already keep a precious memory of the day of our union, August 03, 2020 in Rio de Janeiro in the civil registry office, surrounded by our families and witnesses present physically and virtually.

 

Last and definitely not least, as you know, we are very happy to welcome a new member to our household very (very) soon and to embark on this new experience of parenthood. We are delighted!

 

One thing is certain, we're looking forward to continue sharing many moments together with you, to be part of your journey and that our paths continue to cross!
